Scottish mums who are awake while your S4,S5 &S6 still sleep

Last time for me waiting for the SQA text, I hate this bit. 1 hour and counting.

Not just the parents!! Teachers too! I’m in school today to find out if my pupils have got what they needed to get into uni. So excited for them! 😊

Been up since 5, dd still sound asleep. I just can't predict how it's going to go .....

Wide awake here after a horrible sleep. Everything crossed!

How does it work then, kids register to get a text at 8am?

I remember my Mum barging in to wake me up with the envelope once the postie has been!

Yes we're up and about, DD still fast asleep. Really hope she did OK as she worked so hard last year.

DD is awake but seems really calm - I’m nervous! This is our first time - got 5 more years of this between DD and DS!

I’m trying to work but so distracted, so I came on mumsnet as I was sure they’d be other on here waiting!

If all goes well, just another 4 years of uni results to go. At least with SQA you know when to expect the text. DD1 graduated this year and her final results came in at 7pm on a Friday night.

Oops - I am waiting too. Going to make a cup of tea and wake my DS up. He didn't get in until the wee small hours and has an unconditional offer so might sleep through the text so a little bit of a nudge might be required! Not long now. Good luck everyone.

Ds didn’t even sign up for the text he is calmly waiting for the postie. I’ve told him to promise to text me when he gets his results through.

I don’t have skin in the exam game now, but I hope no one waiting is disappointed today!

(and remember there is more than 1 way to skin a cat if results aren’t what are being hoped for, but 🤞🏼For everyone waiting)

Yep waiting on the postman here too 🤦‍♀️.. Normally comes around midday so ds said he will appear around then! Aargh!

Ds didn't sign up for the text either, our postie doesn't come until about lunchtime, he is still sleeping and doesn't seem bothered.

He sat 5 highers but only cares about one 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm very nervous, but under strict instructions not to wake DS, which is unbearable. Hoping he wakes before midday.

Been awake since 5... DS away so not even sure if he'll wake and let me know his texted higher results before the hard copy arrives here in the post 🙀... feel more nervous than I did waiting for my own higher results back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth...

Dd is up now, 20 minutes and counting ....

Not going through it myself (and live in England) but this thread popped up on Active and remember the anxious wait...

Good.luck to everyone. DD is another who didn't register for texts and will probably be away to work by the time the pots arrives so it may well be evening before we know. Quite worried about one Higher which she thinks she bombed but she has an estimate of A so hopefully will get it on appeal.

Now I’m getting worried that DD didn’t sign up properly for the text. We’re away from home, so won’t see the letter for a while … Do they tend to come through at 8 on the dot?
