Has anyone flown out of Glasgow airport recently? Just wondering if the queues are bad …. my son is flying out next week and has luggage to check in.

dd and her partner went midweek at the beginning of May and said it was pretty quiet - but that was after Easter holidays and obviously pre peak summer holidays

Next week could be a nightmare as the schools will have finished up so lots will be going away

We flew out from there yesterday mid day. There were a few bag drop queues. Notably easyjet.

But there was only one security channel open. So only one in a hall that could have had 8? So that was busy. I guess a half hour wait.

We had bought fast track so we were able to queue jump.

What i would say about Glasgow is that there is not that much to do beyond security. Not compared to Edinburgh. ( in my opinion anyway )

Thanks everyone! Fast track sounds a good idea .

We flew out at the end of May and it was busier than I've seen but we basically just spent all our waiting time in the security queue and it was last call just as we came out, so a bit of a run to the gate but was all good. We had a 6.40am flight, arrived just about 5am and had the Jet2 luggage drop. They were having a problem with one of the belts but they did pull people out and fast track them to the front for the earliest departing flights. Staff did the same in the security queue. It does mean that you don't have to worry about there being nothing to do after security, every cloud....

easyjet queue wasn’t awful. We arrived 3 hours before. The queue was for our holiday as well as a flight to Portugal. The people going to Portugal found out while in the queue that their flight had been cancelled 🤦🏼‍♀️ They stepped aside and went on their phones desperately trying to find another route they could go. Security was quiet, I presume because we were the lucky ones actually getting to go 🙈 flight ended up delayed an hour but we were going to Palma and the absolute CHAOS of Palma airport made Glasgow look efficient

One of my DC is flying out on Friday morning but they are checked in and hand luggage only so should be straight to security.

It is such a worry with all these cancellations and those poor people cancelled at the airport, it must be so awful.

I've told DC that as they are there and ready to go they should just take whatever else they can get and head off if their flight is cancelled. Only slight issue is that they are packing for a city break so 5 nights in Majorca might be a stretch with the wardrobe :)

When we came back Mahon airport was a dream. Flight left early.

We flew out mid-may, busy but not ridiculously so and that was the week there were loads of extra flights for the rangers game.

I also flew out mid may @Stroopwaffels and found it straightforward but i swear there was more than one security channel/passage thing to walk through, whereas on Tuesday this week. Just one. Four members of staff.
