I'm from Fife. Looking at an ex LA flat in Arden in the G46 area of Glasgow. It's within my budget and has a small balcony which I like. Seems not too far from Shawlands and some nice parks.

I'll go to viewing but before I do, does anyone know anything about this area please??

I'm afraid I've never been. All I know about that area was from the programme Colin and Justin did there years ago (you can Google). I'm not sure if it's the same as it was then or changed now.

Arden used to have a pretty bad reputation, mostly because it was an incredibly deprived area. Although, there is a huge amount of change going on there and the surrounding area. Have you looked at G53? It’s fairly close to that area but a bit further down the regeneration road. I’d have a look at g52 too, as it’s really central to Glasgow and Paisley. You might find something similar there with lots of amenities in the surrounding area.

It’s pretty rough as far as I remember.

I'm a Southsider & would say it's a bit rough.

What's your budget & requirements?

Yes if you're buying tell us budget and we can advise. I'd say try cardonald or mosspark instead

Yes, that programme was the first and only time I'd ever heard of Arden and I'm from Glasgow!

It came across as relatively deprived and rather socially and physically isolated (lack of public transport, local amenities etc) but it may have changed.

Ardens a bit mental. But there's good and bad bits everywhere.
