Hi, I am looking to go away for a few night to a nice hotel with spa facilities with my dd. Can anyone please recommend one. DD is 12. I live in Scotland so can travel anyplace and go anytime. Thank you.

Stobo Castle

Lodore Falls is nice, near Keswick so a lovely area and not too far over the border.

No recommendations from me but watch the age limits as some may be more adult/ 16+ (Blythswood ?) but you'd find that info when booking.

Thank you both very much. Will look at both hotels 😊

Gleneagles is epic! But very expensive. I've always wanted to stay at Seaham Hall www.seaham-hall.co.uk/

Barrawarra · 14/03/2022 22:20

Stobo is the best, but children aren’t allowed in the spa, not sure what age limit but I’d expect them not to take her.

Noglassjustthebottleandastraw · 14/03/2022 22:22

Thanks Lizzie I never thought about that. Will double check when booking. I've looked at Gleneagles and it looks great but the room and then adding on treatment adds up to thousands. Never heard of Seaham Hall will look it up, thanks Helen.

Thanks Barra, think its probably best if I phone or email the place to book. To double check age limits.

There's Inglewood too. Near Alloa. Never been but I'd look at reviews on Trip Advisor for up to date info.

Auchrannie in Arran? Then you can make it more exciting by getting the ferry?

Noglassjustthebottleandastraw · 14/03/2022 22:31

Thanks Lizzie never heard of it. Will have a look and definitely look up TripAdvisor reviews. The ferry would make it more exciting Michelle again I've never heard of it. Will look it up.

DH and I have been to Norton house a few times, just outside Edinburgh, it's lovely.
Marine Hotel in Berwick is lovely too for a spa day and they do amazing food!

Noglassjustthebottleandastraw · 14/03/2022 23:05

Thanks very much confetti. Will look into those places.

In my experience none of the spa treatments will be available for under 16s apart from Stobo who will give some treatments to 14 year olds. It’s to do with child protection I believe. You would be better off going to somewhere like Crieff or Peebles Hydro as they have activities you could both do together perhaps

patritus · 15/03/2022 08:41

Yes definitely check age restrictions OP. Even if she doesn't have spa treatments there may be other restrictions on use of facilities.
Norton House near Edinburgh (been mentioned here by pp) is lovely but children only allowed in pool at certain times. Many places don't allow under 14s in jacuzzi
