Hi there, my husband and I currently live in a flat in Edinburgh. We have a wee girl (1 year old) and want to move into a house. We are looking at Dunblane, Stirling, Galashiels to move to. What are peoples thoughts on these areas?

dunblane is nice, parents in law live there
Cambusbarron? Bridge of Allan too? Riverside is nice but don’t know it well. You’d be best visiting find out about the schools and facilities. Don’t know anything about gala but lived in Stirling since 2008 and really like it , I’ve lived in Edinburgh, West Lothian and then here from up north originally though.
Good luck wherever you decide

I've not lived in Gala but I prefer the Peebles area. I live in Stirling, lots of decent areas and schools and as PP says, BofA and Cambusbarron also and Dunblane as mentioned. What sort of budget/size are you looking for? Everything going pretty fast at the moment. I'm originally from Edinburgh and really settled in Stirling.

Doune or Callander would be my choices over dunblane. When visiting I’ve preferred Peebles area over Galashiels too.

It depends what you are looking for? Is it more villages or suburb?
