This is quite brutal. Hope the SNP take heed...

The problem is that their supporters vote for them only because of independence, so it doesn’t matter how badly they run things.

annabelindajane · 13/01/2022 13:21

Generally I would want to see a well run country before I gave them a shot of independence

so wonder what we are missing here ?

As I mentioned above they can borrow on bond markets .

Re the education : I wonder if that’s why they want to see the back of the private schools as they clearly did a far better job in lockdown ( with a few exceptions )

When I was growing up a good Scottish education was available for everyone so how did it go so badly wrong ?

WouldBeGood · 13/01/2022 13:40

Yeah, @annabelindajane but that’s not what the SNP supporters think. They wheesht for indy, on the basis we can sort the rest out afterwards.

The goal of independence trumps all. I can see why, if that’s how you’re minded.

"rabid" is a strong word to describe anti nationalism

I said he was rabid, not all anti nationalists are. Both nationalism and anti nationalism are broad churches. The point I'm making is that he is as ideologically driven as the people he complains about. Which doesn't make for a balanced argument.
