Hi there what are, your reviews on Secondary state schools in North Lanarkshire? In particular Dalziel, St Ambrose High, Chryston High Schools? My catchment area, is, Coatbridge HS but not keen as not even in top 100 best school rating. Many thanks

@horsemadgal

I asked them to confirm receipt of every e-mail I sent them as they don't normally do it. Good luck OP.
Thanks. I have asked for a confirm receipt of my email but still not received one as yet and its been over a week now. 😞I couldnt find a phone number on the website to contact them. Im not sure how else to contact them. Any ideas?

The telephone number is 01236 812266
If they are still working from home there will be an answer machine giving you a mobile number Smile

Just looking over my letters from last year.
I e-mailed my son's placing request on 19th Jan. They replied by e-mail the same day confirming they had it.
Then I received written confirmation dated 29th Jan.

Thank you. I got through and they said they received the email and will send a confirmation letter in due course. They are working from home and have hundreds of placing-requests still to sift through! Relieved they recieved it now just a case of waiting...

My dd is at Greenfaulds and no complaints about it. I do think that most high schools are a much of a much depending on the local demographics.
Both Greenfaulds and Cumbernauld Academy are brand new buildings

How did you get on Mumsyo?

Mumsyo · 17/05/2022 12:50

Hi thanks for asking her placing request got accepted !we visited the school and the teachers were lovely! The only issue i feel now is having to travel there and her not having independence to go by bus. Im also trying to arrange visit to catchment school that have transport provided. Bit unsure which way to go really?!

The other issue is that the placement school building is a little run down as its quite old and an A listed building. The catchment school is brand new. i know it shouldn't matter how a school building looks but hub thinks it doesn't matter about how it looks so long as teacher to student ratio is good etc. So unsure what to do?!

That's good news about your placing request!

One thing because you mention considering both .... I thought that when you do a placing request you give up your catchment spot so you need to do a fresh placing request? This might be wrong though!

Great news Mumsyo, at least you have a choice now. Yes worth visiting the catchment school too if possible. You do give up your catchment spot with the placement request, so ask when you visit if there is space to help with the decision.

If it's the school starting with D feel free to message me as might be able to help further.

Good luck, I hope your daughter is happy wherever she ends up.
