8 day quarantine for arrivals over Christmas?

Hi all

Just wondering what the speculation is on the ground ? I read that Sturgeon has called for a day 8 test and quarantine for all visitors to Scotland, but Downing Street is not interested. Is there indication that she will go for this nonetheless?

We are trying to visit from France to see family that we haven’t seen for nearly two years 😔. And it’s all getting further out of reach again

We have community transmission of omicron in Scotland now so I don't think there is justification for it so I can't see it happening.
And it was an unpopular idea anyway with tourist trade and families like yours

Any updates ?? We have until 15:00 on the 11th to cancel our Airbnb (and even that’s just 50% refund minus services charges 🙄). But of a white knuckle ride this time : the three previous times we have tried to come to Scotland our flights have been cancelled, but no sign of that yet this time round.

Just listened to the briefing: it's not looking promising, is it?
