Morning

We're just back from a lovely weekend visiting friends in Liverpool and fancy doing it again but having us all in Edinburgh, for the Christmas events.

We have young kids. Can anyone advise if we need to book the santa train and other kiddy friendly events? I've had a look online but couldn't see the info.

Also, any suggestions for child friendly cafes or restaurants gratefully received!

Thanks

Edinburgh Christmas haven't yet announced their programme, so it's impossible to say yet. Normally you can book all the rides etc online but you don't have to. Voting do need to book in advance for Santa and it's probably wise to book any shows that are on. But best to keep an eye of for the details being announced.

In terms of restaurants - it depends on what you like, but honestly during the day pretty much anywhere in town is child friendly. If you want to visit the Dome look now to see if there's anything available for your dates.

Thank you, I must be getting a bit ahead of myself. I just didn't want us all to go through and for most things to be fully booked. I'll keep an eye out for the details being released.

I think you can sign up to Edinburgh Christmas website for notifications. It would normally be announced by now I think, I suspect covid is delaying plans.

Yes it feels quite soon that it opens- next month! Thanks again, I'll sign up. I'm probably more excited than the kids!!

The Christmas event at the botanic gardens is open for bookings. I'm not entirely sure it's worth the cost but it's nicer than the tat they put on in princes street gardens! www.rbge.org.uk/whats-on/christmas-at-the-botanics-2021/
