Hairdressers in Glasgow

My fantastic hairdresser has moved abroad. Since he left I’ve tried a couple in his salon but have hated the haircuts. I need recommendations for others to try. I’m in my fifties but still like fashion and like to look a bit cool. I don’t want an auld wifie haircut! Any ideas of salons or particular stylists to try?

Bumping because i’m in dire need of a haircut!

Craig at Natashas Hair Boutique, 492 Tollcross Road.

It’s a small local place in the east end and not at all posh like the city centre salons. But Craig is excellent - he used to be a senior stylist at Rainbow Room.

And of course you don’t pay city centre / west end prices.

I turned 60 in April and don't want to look frumpy

I go to Claire at Cresswell & Co in Cresswell Lane. She initially just did my colour (beautifully ) but when Greg (one of the owners) was away on holiday and I needed a cut, she did it and I've never gone back to Greg

At the moment, she's leaving it long/letting it grow longer (now just below shoulder length) as she thinks it looks younger on me (and I agree). I do despite my age have a lot of hair, albeit very fine, so it looks good longer (although it also looks good short it goes up and down like a yoyo )

Colour is a mix of chunky blond and copper red highlights with a red wash (the red wash fades after about 6 weeks). I only get it coloured twice a year because the colour is sort of like my "real" colour but better, so grows out ok (I've also recently developed a Mallan streak which gives me a "free" highlight at the front ).

I go to West End Hair, Nick there is amazing with colour. They’re not cheap but my hair has never looked better.
