There are mass drop in clinics starting tomorrow (the one at the gyle started today and was very efficient)

I have been trying for two weeks to rearrange my appointment. There is absolutely nothing available.
None of the centres in my council area offer early or late appointments either. Earliest is 9.30am and latest 5.55pm!!

I even called up and they said I could check X area for you. I said don’t bother that would be a 4 hour round trip!

They appear to be closing the clinic in my town, no idea why as we cover a large area. (Everyone iv spoken to have appointments elsewhere)

Not sure what I’m meant to do to actually get a suitable appointment.

Any tips from those of you who managed to change would be appreciated

Be as flexible as you can, re time and place. I wasn't fussy about which centre I went to, I was willing to travel some distance to get an appointment (although ultimately I only had to travel five miles).

Keep checking online. Appointments pop up as others change theirs. I did find it much easier to change my first appointment than my second, presumably because it didn't matter which vaccination I got for my first. It took a couple of hours of checking regularly to change the slot for my second vaccination.

Now though, I wouldn't bother with an appointment. I would just go to a drop in centre. Are there any in your area? Or maybe even in an area near you, if that's a possibility (I'm not sure)?

I am happy for an appointment in my home town or to travel to a location 30mins away but there have been no appointments other than on the day I currently have.
Anything further than that is not doable.

I looked at the drop in centres but they were only showing dates/centres for next week which won’t be 8 weeks for me so not suitable. I will keep checking though

Thanks

If you have an appointment and the same clinic is doing drop ins are there separate queues? I will either be getting the bus or walking into town and thought my first appointment went really well so would prefer to know I have an allocated slot.

I do think it's good there's the option now though.

@runningpink all health boards are doing drop in from Monday. Check their SM or nhs inform for your nearest centre

There were no separate queues at the younger building in Lothian, but it was very quick anyway. I can't speak for anywhere else.

Thanks! As long as it's not as wet as this afternoon (just got drenched).
