Cracking up as everyone seems to have their first dose already! Phoned the number and they said it could be another 4 weeks even though friends younger than me in the same area already have had theirs (no health issues).
Does anyone know if you can go to a drop in centre outside your nhs board? I can't find any information about this.
Please don't tell me to fill out the online form. I do it every day and it says it's matched my details but no appointments have been made yet.

Hi @Horispondle that's really rubbish. I'd suggest emailing the first minister - you'll get her address on line, it's the first.minister one you want. At least you'll get a reply from her team-she did say a while back she was happy for people struggling to get appointments to contact her. If you want to share your health board people might be able to help - I only really know Central belt, there are drop ins in greater Glasgow but suspect there will be some in Ayrshire and North Edinburgh soon. Jason Leitch normally retweets these too.

I don't know about going outside your health board, but I'd chance it if it's not too far x

Thanks for the suggestion to email the first minister! Wouldn't have thought of that. I'm in Lanarkshire and they said there were no drop in clinics so it would be a case of taking a day off work to travel to the Louisa Jordan which I would absolutely do if I knew I'd definitely get it that day but don't want to risk going and waiting about to be told no. I just don't know why I've dropped of the system, my SIL, same age, same GP next village has got hers so I don't know what different about me!

There have been open appointments / drop in centres in our local authority over the past few days, is there anything like that you could attend?

ToooOldForThis · 07/06/2021 20:26

Oh sorry just read your update!

ToooOldForThis · 07/06/2021 20:26

I'm in Ayrshire BTW, loads of drop ins!

I'm 36 and still waiting, might email Nicola too, see if she can get the ball rolling!

I emailed her over a missing appointment. Got a holding reply then nothing, 3 months later still waiting. I'd pursue the drop in centre.

Actually @Horispondle just a thought, as you're under 40 I'd probably not just turn up at a non-drop in centre, especially when you've got a distance to travel - most places seem to only do one version of the vaccine a day, so if they were doing astrazeneca you'd be screwed. I've got a bit of a crush on them but you could always tweet Jason or Gregor GrinGrin

Keep an eye on your local health authority, Edinburgh posted on facebook yesterday that drop in centres for 40+ who haven't had their first dose or are due their second are starting from today with more centres launching next week. It's odd that you don't even have an appointment in the system yet, mine was in when I rang 3 weeks before my actual appointment.
