Anyone have experience of the best private school for a rugby mad boy who is also dyslexic? Meeting his needs in both is very important.

How old is he?

My nephews are both dyslexic and play rugby at Watsons. The support for learning has been really good for both of them.

Have a look at Clifton Hall. Only 400 pupils in the whole school. They have rugby teams throughout the school and (pre-Covid) did regular trips to Murrayfield.

Good luck in your search. We’re all looking for the same but in Gloucestershire. We thought we had a school ready but found out today that they don’t feel they can’t support him as his dyslexia isn’t mild. Extremely frustrating.

Whichever school you find, interview them well before hand and take as many assessments and reports with you so they know they needs of your child. My son is also loves rugby and we’d hoped sending him to a sporty school would have really helped his confidence. The search continues. Best of luck with yours.

Watsons. They were the first school to have a specialist educational support unit and are still the leaders for SfL. The rugby teams are excellent - huge rugby tradition at ths school and lots of students to choose from
