What's Coatbridge like?

Not from UK but moving to Scotland for work. We have seen a house near Coatbridge we might be interested in, and just trying to get an idea of what the area is like. We're coming from a fairly big city so it would be a change. I've read some fairly damning reports of Coatbridge but I'm aware that all towns have their good and bad areas. Can anyone advise me, please?

It depends on your budget, but there are nicer areas on a similar budget, I'd wager. It also depends where you'd be working. I'd go Paisley before I went Coatbridge, although, granted, I don't rate the schools in Paisley either.
