Anyone had the vaccine early because of a health condition

I've just logged into Patient Access and I've spotted an appt at my GP surgery in a couple of weeks. Our practise only allows appts a max of 2 weeks in advance, this appt is for 2.5 weeks so I'm wondering if it's for my first vaccine

Has anyone had their vaccine early due to a medical condition & if so where did you get it?

Our over 75s were done at the GPs but the rest are now being done at a local hub.

Cant think what else it could be. Will phone the surgery tomorrow as soon as I can but just wondered what other people's experience was

I'm getting mine next week at a vaccine centre. I'm 43 with underlying health conditions and a long history of chest infections, pneumonia, pleurisy, bronchitis.

Two of my friends (both 42) have had for severe asthma/ lack of spleen. I'm so pleased that they have been vaccinated so early.

My friend in her mid forties just got an appointment through for next week. She's a type one diabetic and has celiac too.

DP getting his this week as he has MS

I received my vaccine yesterday in a local sports centre. I am 42 and have just completed 6 weeks of radiotherapy, so that must be why I was vaccinated early.

But then I guess it not technically early as people with underlying health conditions were supposed to be earlier than just the age tiers as we get into the younger age groups?

Glad that folk who need it are being called now.

2 friends, both early 50’s no underlying health conditions have been called for this weekend 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not really sure if they are going through other groups in tandem in some areas?

Paisleycountry1985 · 26/02/2021 12:22

Gosh that's first I've heard of folk in 50s being called who aren't NHS/care workers or have medical condition. They must be cracking on in their area!
IHaveBrilloHair · 26/02/2021 16:01

I had mine three weeks ago, I'm 43 with brittle asthma.

Yellow85 · 26/02/2021 16:25

@Sootess one of them did call to question and they were told that their area had been significantly impacted so they were throwing everything at it. That being said my father is in his 60s, history of heart attacks but not being called yet as only chronic heart disease is in the vulnerable list. I think some are being particular about calling the right people and some are just going for pure speed. I’m sure it’ll even out in the end

I'm 61 and I got mine this week. It would have been a couple of weeks ago if GP had got in touch in time.

I'm not sure I'm really entitled to get it early. I get the shielding bumph but I've never shielded. I think it's because when this first kicked off I was on a short, temporary course of corticosteroids which affected immunity and my name went on the list, but it was offered so why not.

Freyaismyname · 27/02/2021 03:39

Offered mine today I'm 41 booked in for next week
