Is getting tight on my nerves

I'm desperate for the bloody vaccine but not anywhere near getting it yet

So I cant roll up my sleeve yet and the advert can just piss right off

lol me too!! And that one about "could you tell the bus driver your journey is essential?".......argh!!

Bytheloch · 09/02/2021 12:10

All the adverts are fear-inducing claptrap, funded by governments. Imagine back in our real lives of 2019, would you have tolerated a lecture from the government on your behaviour?

ssd · 09/02/2021 13:46

We need an advert telling us why the nhs has been run into the ground by this government

Oh me too, can’t stand that one Or the one about having a picnic tea with candles Just fuck off
Orangeblossom1977 · 09/02/2021 15:46

Are these online? Family in Scotland - we just get the 'look into their eyes' one down south. Do you get that one too?

user1487194234 · 09/02/2021 15:48

Assumed they were Scottish
I hear them on the radio if I can’t get out the room in time 😄

Orangeblossom1977 · 09/02/2021 15:53

Ah the one I saw was on TV.

Bytheloch · 09/02/2021 16:00

We get the ‘look into their eyes’ roll up your sleeve and the one that makes me want to kick the tv is the patronising one with the fake cafe owner, who is meant to unleash guilt on to anyone wanting to support Scottish hospitality.

Orangeblossom1977 · 09/02/2021 16:10

Sounds joyful

MichelleScarn · 09/02/2021 16:14

I hate them!! Worst is the 'don't go outside or people will die' or whatever they had. That was fun explaining to a very literal 4 yo. Glad it was pulled.

Bytheloch · 09/02/2021 16:21

I forgot the one with virus that you spread when you’ve been anywhere outside your home. The viral patches appear everywhere and again, meant to make you feel like shite just for being alive.

My young DC also says ‘go away scary man’ whenever Jason Leitch comes on the other ‘don’t move an inch’ public information broadcasts.

Orangeblossom1977 · 09/02/2021 16:22

I saw the slime one, we had something similar. Scaring children.

Chocsandcrisps · 09/02/2021 16:38

Yes, they really annoy me! . Always mutter fuck off before changing channel. The same with the radio adverts they can get lost too.

RaspberryCoulis · 09/02/2021 16:50

No fan of the Scot Gov ads.

But I have to say it's better than the UK one which says something like "look them in the eye and tell them you are doing everything you can". That's just victim blaming. You got covid? Well it's your own stupid fault for leaving the house, covidiot! Hmm

FlippingBottleFlippers · 09/02/2021 16:57

Can't stand the 'look them in the eyes' too. The scare tactics remind me of the HIV grave stone ads of the 80s! I honestly think that the roll up your sleeve advert is a a complete waste of money, I think people are either keen to be vaccinated as soon as they can or have no intention of taking it, the twee advert will not have any impact on their decision.

ssd · 09/02/2021 17:52

Everyone I know will be telling up their sleeves the advert is pointless

And yes to the look them in the eye one...as if it's our fault we/they got ill with covid....people who dont give a toss and go into each others houses etc are hardly going to be out off with a proxy advert

As a child the AIDs ads scared me and I had nightmares...didn't quite understand as too young but remember thinking your bottom turned black and dropped off Confused

Cocacola12 · 10/02/2021 22:29

I hate those ad’s too.
In fact the other day my eldest (7) was flicking through the tv and the advert with Jason Leitch talking on it came up. My ds said “oh shut up” and changed the channel 😂
