We used to live near Moodiesburn and went for walks by the Forth & Clyde canal at Kilsyth. That was a long time ago so don't know what its like now - and I don't know if there are cafes there - sorry

There is a nice cafe at Clachan of Campsie which is open for takeaway. You can sit in the grounds of the local convent or walk up into the hills.

Vivi and Co has just opened at Bearsden Cross and their coffee is really nice. Not a park but you could take a wee wander along to the Roman Bath House, or if you have smaller children there's a good play area at Thorn Park.

I love Mugdock but not sure if the cafe is open just now.

The takeaway at Mugdock is open and doing a roaring trade.

There's a newish takeaway at Carbeth, with outside seating and a car park.
