Where else in Scotland would you choose? And why?

We're in East ren, but I would consider Perthshire or East Lothian. I absolutely love Perthshire especially in autumn. I also love the East Lothian architectural vernacular and marginally better climate

Spain is also calling me, but hey ho this is Scotsnet.

To be frank, if I had to move (for the gazillionth time) I would investigate a place OUTSIDE Scotland. I thought there was to be a new job just across the border, but in the end it didn't materialise.

Every time I go up to the Highlands, I think I could retire there. Might yet.

Rural Perthshire is a possibility. Or somewhere like Dollar.

My dh fancies Dumfriesshire.

Scotslassie1 · 15/11/2020 21:36

North Berwick as I miss being beside a beach or Aviemore for the stunning scenery.

rookiemere · 15/11/2020 22:15

Definitely North Berwick. I crave closeness to the seaside

Pemberleys · 15/11/2020 22:27

Cairngorms and a city pad for weekends in Glasgow West End or Stockbridge.

titsbumfannythelot · 15/11/2020 22:55

Realistically, probably stirlingshire, but in my dreams, an island. Not sure which, but somewhere remote and beautiful. Currently in Glasgow.

anon444877 · 16/11/2020 17:08

I sometimes hanker after a warmer climate but if we wfh for definite, ardnamurchan. House overlooking a (mostly deserted) beach with a nice veg patch.

Scotslassie1 · 16/11/2020 17:21

Ah, Sanna Bay perhaps? Morar? Ah we can dream ...

Sarahandduck18 · 16/11/2020 17:26

If I didn’t have to think about schools or commuting to work I’d want to be coastal but not cut off.

Probably Fife. Weathers mostly dry. Lots of lovely beaches. Well connected. Rural privacy and scenery but near nice shops and things to do.

anon444877 · 16/11/2020 17:29

Well sanna bay but it’s all lovely there, perfection.

DeepfriedPizza · 16/11/2020 17:30

I’m in Renfrewshire. Lived here for 33 years I’d move to a bigger house if I could but not far. We’re 15 mins to Glasgow, 25 mins to Loch Lomond and 40 mins to a beach (Largs)

MadameBlobby · 18/11/2020 00:32

Where’s in level 1? There.

titsbumfannythelot · 18/11/2020 15:54

Me too Madame Blobby, I wonder if we'll ever get to tier 0.
