Estate agent valuation & home report/surveyor valuation

Just wondering if in Scotland, when selling property, is it normal practice to get valuations from more than one Estate Agent?

I mean, does it matter if ultimately the valuation on the home report is generated by a surveyor anyway?

No, not really although conversations are had between agent and surveyor particularly if it’s a unique house but in a common area which is likely to sell quickly then no. I’d get various agents in to see who I’d like to sell my house, their opinion and what they will do for me.

I would say it's definitely normal. I got a few. And there was a massive range in what they valued it at...
