Doubt it. PE is taking place outdoors and they will not want pupils dancing together face to face

They may swap to other types of dance so they aren't face to face. Line dancing would lend itself well to SD. Yee haa!

Ds says no dancing this year (he's just arrived in Scotland but all his friends have told him this is very good news) and PE is jogging around the school or nearby streets. They're not allowed to use balls etc, so no games.

ours have been playing softball and football. No indoor PE so unlikely to do indoor dancing. I'm sure all the kids will be gutted Grin

I'm sure my DS says they are getting to do indoor PE this week, up until now it's been all outdoor!

Not been mentioned for my dc's school. Hes chosen pe as a nat5 subject too.

WeAllHaveWings · 14/09/2020 14:07

ds's is in S5 and not taking PE as a higher year so only gets one physical period which is a Football unit where they are playing football outdoors.

@dementedpixie, if you haven't had a dc doing NAT5 PE before, top tip for them is to read the SQA Understanding Standards example candidate portfolios and the marker comments and compare which sentences get marks and which don't. They should know what question in the portfolio they are teaching/working on/should be revising before they answer in class in exam style conditions.

RoseDog · 14/09/2020 14:32

Ds is going Nat5 too, due to Scottish weather conditions they have done more of the theory work than actual PE!

Holyrivolli · 14/09/2020 14:35

No social dancing which the kids are all really happy about. No idea why they put them through it when it’s not even that good exercise. In PE all they seem to do is run outside - no team sports yet.

Dd is in year 11 and have been told the only practical pe they will be doing this year is for their exam.
