Hi All,

Since it was announced that, as of last Friday, kids under 11 no longer have to social distance from others as long as they are outdoors, are you allowing/would you allow your parents/PIL to hold your newborn?

DS will be 4 weeks old tomorrow and my Mum and Dad are desperate to cuddle their first grandchild. They are 60 with no underlying health conditions and have been social distancing but not isolating.

I really want to let them hold him but I'm anxious about it. I asked my HV her thoughts and she said that my parents are probably more at risk than my son is.

What about if you asked them to wear a mask first? Would that help you feel more reassured?

@dementedpixie yeah I said that to DH, could ask them to wear a mask so they could have a cuddle first and progress to kisses once he's had his first vaccinations and developed a bit of an immune system 👍🏼
