Nice places to run in Glasgow?

I've taken up jogging over lockdown and I'm really proud of myself for enjoying it. I want to keep it up but I am so bored of my usual routes.

I stay in Dennistoun so normally go either to the Green or to Alexandra Parade. I'm willing to drive if I can park without much hassle.

btw- not a serious athlete by any manner of means Grin a pleasant forty minute jog around a park is what I'm looking for, not bounding up mountains!

Pollok Park is a great place to run. You can drive to St Andrews Drive and park there and cross into the park at the traffic lights at the junction of St Andrews Drive and Dumbreck/Haggs Road.

You could park in the dead end bit of Springkell Avenue (beside Maxwell Park) and run from there.

You can make up circuits to suit how far you want to run.

I live in Pollokshields so am able to run from home, through Maxwell Park, into Pollok Park up around the wee pond in the park and back out again from the same entrance and then back home via Maxwell Park again - about 5km.

I've only just started running again though and am gradually and very carefully building up my distances, as I have a tendency to get Achilles tendinitis Sad Once I can go further I'll go to the Burrell/Pollok House/along the River Cart and out the other entrances (or around the perimeter). You can do loops too to increase your distance.

As @prettybird said the Southside parks are super nice - Pollok (huge and nicely foresty), Queens (v hilly), Bellahouston and Maxwell (small)

@MillenialAvocadoCliche I also like the clydeside (can run from Glasgow green in either direction) and the Kelvin river path from Kelvingrove around Kelvinside. I also like going from the Kelvin path into Dawsholm park via the canal (although be cautious in Dawsholm - a few recent sexual assaults in evening so I wouldn't go alone)
