Hi, can anyone give me any insight into the entrance exams at Watsons and Heriots? My kids will be applying for S5. Do they have to do a CAT test? I also wondered what the interview involves. Any info much appreciated!

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has had recent experience of Heriot’s entrance test for S1? I’ve read on mumsnet in previous threads that Heriot’s selection is trickier due to the amount of applicants? We’ve only applied for this one private school & didn’t bother for GW or SM due to preference! Also have done some prep with DD and used the Bonds book but then the 11plus practice paper was very difficult. So now DD lacking confidence. Attends current Edinburgh state primary school and is doing well so not sure what to expect in entrance test! Any words of advice/ experiences welcome! TIA
