Hogmanay in Glasgow

Looking for something to do with kids for Hogmanay. We always just stay in and treat it like any other night but was thinking it might be nice to do something this year.

Has anyone got any ideas of things to do? Are the hotel parties (Hilton etc) any good?

Thanks

We usually go to see a panto on Hogmanay and then we try to stay up for the bells. We have party food and try to make it special. Last year I was too tired to stay up so really need to do it this year.

A hotel party sounds like fun.

Hotel parties tend to be full of wrecked folk. Unless you find one that is aimed at families (rare).

There’s usually a family friendly ceilidh/dinner in our local scout hall.

Maybe ask on your local fb page if there’s anything nearby? Saves on taxis/hotels etc

I wouldn't go to one of the hotel parties with kids.

My church do a family ceilidh/ party

Forgot I’d posted this!

Was just the family parties I was looking at (surely kids wouldn’t even be allowed in the other ones) but will probably end up doing what we do every year - nothing!

Thanks all!

I think some of the Brewers Fayre/Beefeater type places put some kind of disco type thing on for families in some places, you just need to book a label for a meal and then keep it for the evening. My friend (in glasgow) has done this a few times with her family.

We just usually stay up and watch a movie and then do a toast at the bells and then go out into the street to wish all the neighbours a happy new year while watching the fireworks that we can see from the street.
