2 day break in Feb- where would you go?

I love Aviemore so anywhere with a similar atmosphere within a few hours of Glasgow would be great. I am fully expecting crap weather

What bit of the atmosphere are you looking for? What type of accommodation? Personally I'd probably opt for the lake district,. Maybe somewhere around Keswick. Also forest of Bowland but that might be a little too far? Bamburgh/Northumberland somewhere? In Scotland you could do Crieff or oban or Peebles. Killin? Portavadie/Tighnabruaich?

What about Loch Lomond?

Fonab Castle in Pitlochry? Went last Feb...weather was mixed but lovely place and lots to do nearby
