Scotrail Kids go Free attractions question

I want to take my kids to something that’s in the Scotrail Kids go free scheme but I don’t need to take the train there cos it’s just down the road. Can I be a CF and just buy a ticket for each child to travel from the next stop to here (£1.50) and then rock up to the venue without them having been near a train, and get them in free? Each child will have a full price paying adult with them as per the rules. It seems too obvious a loophole for there not to be a rule to stop it but I can’t see one.

I’ll save £20 if I can!

Have done it a couple of times. Drove and stopped at a station to buy the cheapest tickets.
