Last day of school holidays!

Who all goes back to the daily school grind tomorrow? I know some start back later but my 2 go back at 8.55am tomorrow morning. I'm not looking forward to trying to get my kids up on time, especially dd, as she has rarely been awake before lunchtime. I've had to open blinds and curtains most days to get her to wake up.

Hope I've remembered everything they need including packed lunch items and stationery.

Yep one going into S4 and the other starting S1 so lots of nerves/excitement in this house and last minute fretting over schoolbags and lunchboxes! Back to the grindstone.

Another week here (fife). Its been 7 weeks(and 2 days) this year so a long time off. Think the kids will benefit from some routine again!

Highland goes back on the 20th so another week here. #cabinfever

We go back Thursday. Quite looking forward to back to the routine.

Yes S3 here. She's currently packing her school bag for tomorrow.

I think we are the 21st but no DC going back this year. Uni starts 2nd Sept for DS2 and Ds1not back until mid September.

Wednesday here. Last year of school ever in my house. I will not miss ironing the shirts, finding shoes that pass the shoe police and DDs fashionable skirts which hardly cover her bum. DD helping out with the new S1s which she is quite excited by. Let's see if that lasts.

Monday 19th here. P2, P5 and S1. Absolutely terrified for DS1. He's got ADHD and anxiety. Very prepared him as much as possible and he has a good group of friends, but I'm still scared for him.

I've warned dd to sort her school bag out tonight or she'll be doing everything at the last minute as usual.

We have another week, back 21st...😭 Send help! This holidays has been a long one. Don't get me to wrong we've done lots of nice things but I'm running out of money and annual leave and they need the routine of school (they're 8 and 4).

Yeah, ds is getting bored so I think he'll be glad to get back into a bit of a routine. Dd will find school is interfering with her sleep routine!

S5 and S2 here. Had to do top up shopping as the reality of packed lunches hit earlier. Holidays feel like they've gone really quick. DD needs to redo some of her course choices (she assumed she would fail maths so had started the result class) so I hope that gets sorted ok.

P2 & P5 tomorrow - they are as high as a kite and not listening. DD is not going to like the early rises, although they have done a few camps/holiday clubs so it shouldn't be a total shock.

I'm looking forward to some me-time

We are back next Tuesday S2 for ds3. He’s my last one at school. We’ve had such a lovely chilled out holiday. I’m not going to enjoy getting up early again.

Ds is away to S6. This time next year I won't have any children at school and it feels so odd.

Silverburn was so much quieter today! Wish the schools going back was even more staggered!

Well the kids survived the first day back. Poor ds also had rugby training in the evening so he should sleep well tonight

Ours went ok - DD has a new course choice form and should get that sorted this week. Both got up and dressed with no problems which is a relief although I suppose soon we'll be back to me calling out the time every 15 minutes.
