Sheets to fit Scottish baby box

Hi all

Intend to try and use the baby box. Seen it comes with one fitted sheet. The dimensions of the mattress are 700x428x400mm. Can’t seem to find any sheets in supermarkets, JL etc that are quite this size. Anyone found any that fit even tho they might be a slightly diff size? Realize that I can’t get ones too much bigger due to safety issue of bunching up. Thanks in advance.

Would a pillow case fit the mattress?

Oh that’s a good thought! Smile

Hey @Blondiecub0109 - I won't be using mine, I'd be happy to send you my fitted sheet if you need an extra one?

Howd, thanks for the link. I actually had no idea there were concerns over them. It’s nit a money thing more a case of thinking we were being environmentally friendly. On the basis on doing some of my own reading g, we’ve decided against using for sleeping.

@Blondiecub0109 There are no concerns over baby boxes, that's not what the Guardian link says. The English media are absolutely obsessed with knocking the baby box, the articles is just an extrapolation of an 'expert' they've fished out telling us that 'there is no evidence baby boxes are safer', which is not what anyone ever claimed.

I used pillow cases to pram mattress , Moses basket. They fit well and tuck in.

Baby boxes have been used widely in Scandanavian countries for decades, as well as Canada and many English NHS Trusts are now providing them. This was a Sun #SNPbad story and just scaremongering. Moses baskets would catch light, if exposed to the same conditions.

If the baby boxes are so dangerous, why is the Royal College of Midwives calling for the scheme to be rolled out across the UK? HmmConfused

Agreed Prettybird. Pathetic scaremongering.
