Sorry I can't help with recommendations for a salon but I hope you're enjoying your new home Smile Lots of nice cafés in Partick (I'm along the road in Whiteinch and enjoy walking to Partick with my wee dog on my days off and having a coffee in Bigmouth or Fika, or a breakfast in St Louis.

@Nyx thanks for the reply! I know its a bit of a long shotbut hoping someone might come along with some help

we think Partick is lovely very close to many things and loads we can do with the children... will try the cafes you mentioned.

You defo need to ask other women with Afro hair.

I know my own hairdressers ( large, city centre ) don't do it because they don't have the expertise.

In Glasgow it's quite normal to stop someone in the street and ask them where they get their hair done/ bought their dress, just do it.

Oh and welcome to Glasgow!

Welcome! Smile

I cannot share a personal recommendation but Solly's African Village on Great Western Road may be able to help?

I've never looked at their website before (I only go in for fruit [grin[) but it looks like they have stylists. Who knew?!

I have curly caucasian hair and Ian Dunn's House in the centre of town cater for that - no idea about African hair though, sorry.

I think there's a couple of Afro hair salons in Kelvinbridge. There certainly used to be. One opposite Bank St, and one between the bridge and Park Rd.

Sorry I'm late!
Degenesis at st enochs square. I was stuck looking myself when I moved here. They're good, you get as much tea as you can drink and it's nice to be around familiar faces.
It's a proper social event! :)
