Christmas ideas please Greater Glasgow/Loch Lomond

Hello Scotsnet I am hoping you can help. I'm coming up to Loch Lomond for Christmas with my family. I've got a 10 & 4 yo that I would like to go & do lovely Christmassy things with.

Any idea where I could take them that isn't all booked up? We do have a car so can travel about (weather permitting!) it's been a long time since we've gone home (well my home!) for Christmas I'd like to make special.

Are you up before or after Christmas? Not sure how booked up Mrs Claus at Pollok House (near the Burrell Collection in Pollok Park, South Side of Glasgow) is.

My ds is 15 now so I'm a bit out of the loop for the age group(s) of your kids.

Callendar is nice for coffee shops, walks, pubs and there is a nice Christmas shop at least there was which is open all year round.

Have a look at Loch Lomond Shores website - Santa train, drive-in movies and Olaf meet and greet etc.

If you fancy day trip to Glasgow there is skating and funfair in George Square.

Thank you We are up in 22nd so will miss quite a bit of Lomond Shores things sadly as I love the idea of an Elf drive in movie (though maybe not with the background noise of windscreen wipers!)

I will check out Mrs Claus - do I need to pre-book. I love Pollok House - v fond childhood memories of there & Haggs Castle but not at Christmas.

Have also thought about a post-Christmas trip to the Kelpies if the traffic that way isn't too horrendous from the bridge closure.

You do need to book Mrs Claus (I drove past the sign yesterday) so she might already be fully booked.
