if its sunny south of Milton Keynes then thats all thats mentioned

its wild here today so of course they opened the weather reports with pictures of the sun and we're being told "after yesterdays storms (not here!!) today will be much more settled, well I can hear my bin blowing away up the street right now

its meant to be the weather for the UK, not just London and "up north", eg. north of the M25

Angry

I'm much further south than you (north Shropshire) and find the same thing. Radio does it too, not just TV.

prettybird · 06/06/2015 14:42

Indeed - I frequently shout at the weather report on the TV and grumble about the radio DJs comments Angry

The Channel Islands, despite being licence payers, even get cut off the main weather maps and just never get a mention. At least Scotland and Scottish Islands are on the map.

Fair point Smile.

Although when the BBC introduced the new "tilted" virtual reality map of the UK which makes Scotland look smaller than it really is and the South East even bigger Hmm they had to untilt it slightly but as little as they could get away with Hmm as Shetland wasn't visible over the horizon Shock

I hate reading the headlines (online) telling us that the UK is set for a heatwave at the weekend, then clicking through to see something along the lines of "but only if you're in London or the South East". :(

JackSkellington · 06/06/2015 17:14

The Metro online is quite bad for that. ^

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 06/06/2015 17:27

I hate that the Republic of Ireland weather is blanked out. It's often handy to see what's en route.

Reminds me of being little in Scotland and you didn't get kids TV programmes for the first 4 weeks of the summer holidays until English schools broke up

Still bitter Angry

prettybird · 07/06/2015 09:13

Even now - the BBC started covering exam technique and how to cope with the stress just as all the exams were finishing in Scotland. Hmm

ssd · 07/06/2015 11:38

yep, it happens all the time, the school holidays one is a real biggie, and when its half term and going back to school time, its so bloody annoying.
