When on earth is this weather going to get better?

DH remarked today that if it was November, we'd be saying it wasn't too bad- but it's June FFS!

dunno.... but I am fucked off with it

yesterday, heatwaves for later in the week were predicted but they appear to be changing their mind again Angry

Elliptic5 · 01/06/2015 18:15

Don't think it's just us though, the rest of the uk seem to be suffering as well.

Have given up trying to plant out my veg as my beans I put out last week have had nearly all their leaves blown off Angry.

I saw somewhere down South on the news and it looked lovely. I think the north of England is gloomy as well though!

It is chucking it down & freezing here. I have had enough.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 01/06/2015 18:19

I'm in the north of England, it is gloomy here too. And chilly.

OatcakeCravings · 01/06/2015 18:20

We had the summer in April. And the most depressing thing is it's the longest day in 3 weeks time.

HirplesWithHaggis · 01/06/2015 18:23

Windy Wilson says it'll change Wednesday, with high pressure/better weather due Thursday. In the meantime, keep the winter woolies on!

AnyFucker · 01/06/2015 18:24

I am pretty sure that May used to be better than this last one (and the few before too), even taking account of sun goggles.

SantanaLopez · 01/06/2015 18:25

It was always nice in May during exam season.

DevaDiva · 01/06/2015 18:26

I have been assured it gets better on Wednesday and it will be 30 degrees which would do nicely thank you.

DevaDiva · 01/06/2015 18:27

Ah sorry speaking for Manchester/North West just seen you're in Scotland Smile

Elliptic5 · 01/06/2015 18:27

I'm going to light my wood burner in a minute.

readyforno2 · 01/06/2015 18:28

Haha hirples. I came on to quote Windy Wilson too Grin

Orangeanddemons · 01/06/2015 18:29

Heating on here. Went to pick dd up in winter coat and gloves. It was eight degrees. We're in Sheffield. Winds breaking all my plants

SantanaLopez · 01/06/2015 18:30

Cripes, sympathies to Sheffield.

Pissing down here. I had wanted to take the kids out a run before bed time too. Boh.

I didn't realise this was Scotsnet either

No matter, us Northeners are all this together Smile

anythingforaquietnight · 01/06/2015 18:32

Far south west of Cornwall here. We have a proper full on winter-style gale blowing. Dog refusing to go outside. Got lights on and about to fire up the central heating.

Rinkydinkypink · 01/06/2015 18:33

Its freezing! 8oc here all day (north). Heating still on and winter clothes still needed. Very fed up Hmm

SantanaLopez · 01/06/2015 18:33

All the way down to Cornwall Grin

Well, if we're all suffering together I feel better!

The highlight for me was a loose paving stone schooshing water up my trouser leg as I trudged home whilst wrestling with my umbrella.

BlueThursday · 01/06/2015 21:56

Did anyone else get the thunder Sad

HirplesWithHaggis · 01/06/2015 22:23

Had thunder, lightning and hailstones in the small hours, not during daylight hours. Much calmer now.

prettybird · 01/06/2015 22:23

May did used to be a reliably good month: our wedding anniversary is 16 May for exactly that reason and 17 years ago was a fabulous day Grin

The thing that gets me is how cold it still is: unless the sun is out, the air is still cold Hmm.

We've still got our winter duvet on the bed! Shock

Got soaked this evening walking to a Parent Council meeting - had to sit through it with cold wet legs Sad

tilliebob · 01/06/2015 22:29

I put the heating on tonight - I quite like this pishy weather as I hate summer and love autumn though. I'm one of those weird folk who loves heavy rain and stands out in it in the back garden
