Ideas for end of summer family treat with a 6 year old & 3 year old please??

I was thinking of booking a last minute trip to chessington but the weather isn't looking too great! Open to anything - day out, cheap night away, something to do at home. We're East Sussex based 😊

Given the weather, how about an indoor camping day. Sheet or blanket over the dining table for the tent. Quick trip outside between showers to collect some twigs, flowers, leaves etc. and back indoors to make pictures. cut up a couple of boxes for a picture base. Eat all meals in the tent. story time in there and maybe sleep there as well if the adults have somewhere else to sit for the evening

Ockley Barn farm, it’s gorgeous and the animals are under cover and you book a slot and you have it to yourself and get shown around and can get properly in with the animals and feed them all including bottlefed animals.

Probably not really something for your ages/interests but Dh is taking ds to Cornwall next week for a couple of nights with a friend and his son to watch a football match, dh thought it be a nice couple of days before going back to school. I think it’s an excellent idea, mostly because I’ll have some peace for he first time in 6 weeks 😂
Ordinarily though we don’t really do anything specifically to mark the end of the summer holidays, I’m usually absolutely done in by then and just need to grit my teeth and dig deep!!
