Sickness then holiday?

Good evening all,

Technically, could I phone/ email my child in sick for a Monday and Tuesday and then tell them we're going on holiday from Wednesday to Friday without getting fined?

I know it's morally wrong and I'm not excusing it but we've had a very emotional, crappy few months and cannot afford a holiday in the half term. I will pay the fine if necessary but technically will this work?

If you are going to take them out of school for a holiday, just be honest about it and be prepared to accept the unauthorised absence and a fine. Lying about it is wrong.

They will assume (rightly) that you are lying and submit it as so

Oh yes, because the school won't suspect at all will they?

😂 Exactly what my partner said. I will inform them and suck up the fine.
