Hi just wondering if anyone could help. My daughter has got into a school to start in September (reception) we are currently in the catchment area but unfortunately our landlord has decided to sell the house we live in and we may have to move out of the catchment area slightly could the school take away our daughters place if we have to move

I think if you accept the place now and show your current proof of address then the place is yours and if you move then it doesn’t matter. Have you officially accepted the place?

No. It’s done on your address at the time applications/offers are made.

The only thing to watch out for - if you have a younger child - is that in some cases, siblings don’t get priority if you’re no longer in catchment. But your DD will be fine.

We’ve had a letter to say they are coming out to visit so I’m assuming this is the offer which I have said ok to the home visit to see us and our daughter

No they can't remove the place.

Thank you I’ve been really panicking her nursery have expressed that she could be adhd so the school we have got a place at would be brilliant for her as it’s a small setting so I’ve been really worried she will loose the place on top of having to find a new home at short notice it’s been a lot so your comments have really helped ❤️

No they can't.
(If they try post on Primary Education and you'll be helped there.)

Home visits are a usual part of getting to know the child (in some schools). Just give the office a ring and let them know your landlord has just given you notice, so please can they check the address before coming. .. (in my school the visit would be in September and this is something you might forget to do then, and the school would use the old address. We would just make a note on your record.)

I assume it is the school
Coming out? This is a normal part of entry into some schools - nothing to do with checking your address. Accept your school place now, just let the school know if you move.

Thank you it’s in June ours and we may have to move the week before I have contacted the school and they have said if we’re not available they can call instead just so we talk before the transition days in July
