Unauthorised absence QE boys

Hello, I wanted to get views from parents whose children are going to QE boys on how strict are they on unauthorised absence? If we take our DD out of school for a week before christmas holidays in year 7, would that be a problem and if yes in what sense? thanks

I would also love to know the answer to this as well as someone looking to potentially move from NZ

Sorry but yes, this would be a massive problem for them. They take academic achievement very seriously and if you are not in school, you can't learn. You'll get the fine. You'll get a lecture. Your son will get a lecture. And 1st term of Y7, you really don't want that for him when he's only just begun his school career.

It's all very old school - following the rules is very important and taken seriously (especially in Y7). By breaking the rules yourself you undermine the school.
