Holiday club - safety

My 5yr old went to outdoor holiday club last week ( just one day) and loved it. We’ve already been on holiday, done some nice things at home and had few days trips. But boredom was setting in and a friend suggested this. It’s deep in the countryside and is all outside activities. With only 2 weeks of Scottish school holidays left I was going to send him tomorrow and one day next week. Just so he can have a little last min holiday fun. He doesn’t have to go as I’m also off on holiday, and I’m not making him go, he said he liked it and would like to go back. But, following events this week I’m worried that I’m putting him in danger. Could this happen again? ( copycat) It’s so worrying! My friends advice was to let him go, as we can’t let these people win. What do you all think?
