Need a...well blinking large kit kit.... or a toffecrisp!!

I'm just looking to converse with other sahp about their day really. It can be a but lonely sahp I've noticed.

In the thick of it with 2 little ones. Ds1 is now 4 and ds2 is 20 months.

Today/night I'm feeling drained and super hungry and thirsty, I've mostly dealt with ds2 teething, and tiredness, super hot upstairs flat and trying to get ds1 and ds2 to eat just after family birthday celebration evening.

Busy with housework so no playgroup today but promised to take ds2 out tomorrow when ds1 at nursery.

How about you all? How has your day been?

Not a SAHP all the time but temporarily I am
whilst on Mat leave. It’s exhausting! I’ve got a newborn and a toddler so totally get your struggle. Did you get your toffee crisp!!??

Paintandpots · 01/05/2025 07:08

Hi @Doobeedoobeedoobee Doobee.
Yikes, you have a lot on your plate! Hope your getting time for yourself to.

And nope didn't get a toffeecrisp in the end. There were 2 finger kitkats in so i had one of those instead. Yummy. With a cup of milk.

Feeling a bit like i might be on the burn out track again so today I'm just going to sort the laundry and take it easy as much as i can with the little ones.

How are you today?

It's exhausting isn't it? My DS is in the last stage of teething and yesterday was one for the books. Told DH I don't know who I am anymore and there are days it is so hard! I have a stash of treats for those days especially lol. I intend to get him out of the house today for a run in the park in the sun.

Paintandpots · 03/05/2025 17:13

@Melody32 hope DS last teeth pop up soon! Sunshine and being outside definition helps to cheer all of us up, kids and adults alike. Hope your afternoon went well.

Today Ds1 wanted to do some washing up... but lol there were no dishes in the sink left. So i just have him some clean ones to clean again lol. He did alright, not too much mess for a 4 year old. His brother though, he spilt water everywhere and started splashing in it.
At least they had some fun. :)

My two are a similar age to yours @Paintandpots. I went back to work full time after DC1 but not after DC2, as we also moved house and are at the tail end of some renovation work. I was just thinking to myself this morning how can this possibly be more exhausting than a FT job, and why on earth am I getting so little done, but it is!

Paintandpots · 02/06/2025 04:00

@user593 How goes dealing or managing the renovation work alongside parenting? Is it confined to a certain room so you just keep that room locked/ try to keep children out of that area as much as possible?

Half term over but wow it was actually lovely. We went to the park a fair bit even with the funny rain we have had. Lots of fun chasing and playing with DC1 and 2.
