So stuck on going back to work 1 or 2 days!

Hi
I have 2 very young kids (under 3)
When my youngest turns 2 I would ideally like to go back to work self employed. The thing is they are both attached to me which is really sweet but financially the extra income will help us. If I work 1 day a week and their GP’s can babysit then that will be enough for just extra expenditure or cover a couple of bills (DH is covering everything currently).

If I work 2 days I will also be able to save a bit each month too but kids will have to go nursery 1 day a week (funded) and GP’s 1 day.

It’s the mum guilt of being away from them 2 days so young for “saving” so I am unsure on what to do. Currently they are both attached home with me full time.

I would do 2 days rather than 1… although many nurseries want at least 2 days . Children do learn better mum leaves and then comes back better without a week gap between

Personally I’d do 2 days! Children will enjoy time at grandparents and even daycare it’s only once a week- will give them some variety in their lives :) and if it helps you become a little more financially independent it will help them in the long run too x

You're very lucky to have the GP care so defo 2 days at least!

As above, most nurseries have a 2 day minimum.

I have a 3 year old and work 5 days a week, I don’t know how I sleep at night with the mum guilt and panic over my daughter’s lack of attachment to me 🙄

yep me too! Have always worked since mine were 1 - they were just attached to me evenings and weekends instead! We all survived, love each other and so far so good!
