Just wondering if I’m the only one!

Absolutely. I find it really hard to not mindlessly snack when I'm home all day!

millionaireshortie · 17/10/2018 21:01

100%! Access to food at all hours of the day!

NameChanger22 · 17/10/2018 21:03

I eat more at work because I'm more bored and stressed there. I'd be a size 8 if I could stay at home.

Neolara · 17/10/2018 21:04

I've just gone back to work after 14 years as a sahm. My reflections are that I definitely ate more as a sahm but I was also MUCH more active. I used to do my 10,000 steps most days without giving it a second thought. Now I'm at work, I'm lucky if I do half that.

Faster · 17/10/2018 21:05

Sooooooooo much.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 17/10/2018 21:06

Definitely!

SoyDora · 17/10/2018 21:09

No, I found I ate much more in an office with people constantly bringing in cakes etc. I also ate through stress! Im a SAHM now but we’re rarely at home so bar the odd biscuit at a toddler group I don’t really snack.

WhingyNinja · 17/10/2018 21:17

My previous employer always provided biscuits every day and wine and beers on a Friday, and I hardly touched them! I've been a SAHM mum for 3 years and have developed some less than perfect eating habits as I am in charge of what's in the house. I do get my steps in as PP said as I am not confined to my desk which is a plus.

lifechangesforever · 17/10/2018 21:35

Completely the opposite for me .. I work in the city centre so I'm constantly just nipping our for food or someone from the team is brining in treats for one occasion or another.

I'm on maternity now and I stick to 3 healthy meals a day and a tiny little treat after baby is in bed at night. I do have motivation to lose weight though, given how much I ballooned in pregnancy!

Rudolphtherednose · 02/11/2018 20:08

I eat so much. It’s the combination of constant access to the food cupboards, no one being there to judge you, boredom and sleep deprivation.

SatsumaFan · 06/11/2018 08:07

Exactly what Rudolphtherednose said!

millionaireshortie · 06/11/2018 14:08

Yes all those things! 🤷‍♀️

BrutusMcDogface · 10/11/2018 13:39

It scares me how much chocolate I pack away on a daily basis.

Kit10 · 10/11/2018 13:44

I eat so much more at home, mostly through boredom, I'm distracted at work.

broughts · 10/11/2018 13:59

Totally. I’ve had to stop buying biscuits because I could easily eat the whole packet!

millionaireshortie · 12/11/2018 17:45

What's the answer ladies? Has anyone found a way of being super-disciplined?

Mamabear12 · 19/11/2018 21:33

No, I don’t have much time to eat! I’m too busy to have breakfast until 10am so just have a coffee until then. Depending on when I can eat lunch I’ll eat at 12, 1 or 2 and then suddenly it’s time to make kids their dinner. I will either eat w them or eat some of their food and eat a little later. So I basically eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Today I didn’t eat dinner because I wasn’t hungry from having lunch at 2 and now I’m hungry, but it’s late so no dinner (this is rare though!). During the day I’m too busy to snack. Morning is a mad rush getting kids to school. We have a 7 month puppy so I take her out for walks a few times a day as well. Laundry, dishes etc. I feel like I’m constantly tidying (although we do have a cleaner to help 3 times a week). I’m not sure exactly why I can’t manage to keep the house clean. But anyway, I seem to always be too busy to snack. I do have a good meal though when I eat. When I worked I snacked loads because I was sitting at the desk so I would eat out of boredom. Same size as I was when I was snacking loads at work (that was pre baby and in 20s so perhaps higher metabolism). Anyway, I think some people have the mindset they are too busy to eat. Of course there are snacks in the house and my kids love snacking etc. I will make them snacks. I just don’t eat them. I sit with them while they eat. For some reason I’ve just got this habit now I never snack. It only started after having kids.

Emma1609 · 20/11/2018 20:24

100% absolutely - and making the kids dinner and toast etc etc....the ONLY thing i can stick to is the 16/8 diet//intermittent fasting. Because i can eat whatever i want during the 8 hour window, guilt free, but at least it keeps it to 8 hours instead of all day and night!

xamyrose · 20/11/2018 20:42

Ooo Emma1609... tell us more about this diet..it sounds good!

No, less to be honest. I used to do myself either a ready meal or big pasta lunch when I was at work and would snack in between patients. Now I’ll have breakfast (which I never did before) a small lunch and then my evening meal. I maybe eat more on an evening as it’s the only time I can eat without a 2 year old wanting me to share!

carolina21 · 22/11/2019 23:02
