Should I go back part time?

I haven’t worked since before my maternity leave with DS, who is now 18 months. I do enjoy being at home and we are just about managing for money.
I have been offered a job at a new shop that’s opened locally, 2 afternoons a week at £10 p/h. I can’t decide whether to try it or not for a bit of pocket money and to give me something to get my out of the house.
What do you think?

What childcare would you use? On the face of it, yes go for it. If you hate it you can always leave, but I know a lot of settings require more than 2 sessions a week as dc struggle to settle with only one. My two have been to pre school where they happily accommodate 2 mornings /after noon a week but the sessions aren't very long.

I’m quite lucky as my parents are literally a 2 minute walk away from where I’ve been offered the job and my mum only works mornings so I’ve stated I can only do afternoons. As you say I think I might go for it (they have only put me down for 8 hours but it’s £10 p/h) and if I don’t like it I can always say there’s a childcare issue or something, it’s not like I need it to pay the mortgage like I did before DH was earning the amount he does now.

Definitely go for it, you get a bit of cash, experience and possibly a reference should you need it. Your ds gets 2 afternoons with grandma. Sounds ideal.
