I've decided NOT to return to work

After failing to find a childcare provider that I can trust, I have decided not to return to work at the end of my maternity leave. I know many factors affect the decision to leave one's career. But to those parents that came to a similar conclusion, what was the one thing that pretty much nailed that decision for you?

I prob need to make myself go to baby groups instead and see how I feel then

A big chunk of my wage would have gone on childcare and I felt very strongly that I wanted to be the one to look after our son. Don't get me wrong, it's been hard, draining and stressful but I'm really glad i've done it.

Not entirely sure what i'll do when he starts school. I started a business last year that is going very well and is bringing in a decent amount so I don't need to get another job for financial reasons but I think I would definitely like to do something else.
