Rushton/Eaton in Cheshire - Young family?

We are moving back from Manchester to Cheshire. We have been looking at Cuddington/Sandiway/Whitegate/Weaverham sort of way (as parents are there) but there's a couple of really lovely, large properties that have come up near Rushton, Eaton sort of way. We know Tarporley is lovely (and about a ten min drive from the houses we are looking at) but not sure about what it would be like in those areas with a young family. Does anybody live there/near there and can say what its like - the sensible part of me says we need to live near shops but the less sensible part loves the thought of a few acres and room to breathe in every sense of the word!

Hi, saw this post and thought I would give what help I can as a male without children.

From what I've picked up from living most of my life in south Cheshire, Eaton and Rushton seem like very nice places to live, although I have heard from someone living in Eaton that literally everyone knows or knows of each other, but you would expect that in a small village.

Tarporley is indeed lovely from what I have seen, and will have more to do than Eaton/Rushton, while still keeping the village feel. It also has the advantage of being relatively close to Chester, which has a bit more culture than towns like Macclesfield in the east. Knutsford also has a great reputation, but presumably expensive.

Some parts of inner Northwich have a bad rep, but your parents will know more than me. If you can afford to consider Tarporley, then avoid Winsford at all costs, Middlewich is slightly better but not great.
