Looking to move to the Winchester area - weighing up a smaller property in central Winchester (Hyde, Fulflood, St Cross) versus more space in surrounding villages (Twyford, Littleton, Compton, Shawford, Hursley, Crawford).
Pros of central Winchester: walk everywhere, well connected, great schools, shops & restaurants, kids can walk to see friends when teenagers
Pros of Villages: More space, bigger houses, still quite close to amenities as Winchester area generally quite well connected with buses etc, most of the villages still have great schools and in the catchments for Kings high school.
Is anyone able to offer any more pros/cons on city versus village in the Winchester area? Or tips? Looking to spend around £1m or a bit higher for the right property.
