where to look for detached house with 0.5-1 acre garden / land

Hi all

Looking to move house towards November and was wondering if anyone could give any advice on what areas might fit criteria for following:

  1. close to airport serving European Hubs (e.g. Gatwick)
  2. good train connection to either London Bridge or Liverpool Gate (e.g. 1h-1.5h max with minimal changes)
  3. big garden: 0.5-1 acre - enough for a nice big Climbing Frame setup & also home vegetable / fruit / plant growing
  4. ideally remotish - ie not on a street lined with houses but still within 5-10min bike/car ride to village shops / train / schools
  5. 3-4 bedrooms for a 500-650k budget (difficult to tell how much prices will be different in 6months but maybe 5-10% haircut vs now?)
  6. relatively decent areas with good schools (both state but also private in case state doesnt work out).

Previously always only looked at Tunbridge Wells / Sevenoaks as option but with this whole pandemic we want to be somewhere more remote with big garden and hence possibility to have our own fruit / veg and maybe even rear chickens etc.

Many thanks in advance

Hope all are keeping safe and well

btw budget could be stretched for right property. main issue so far is even identifying properties with the right garden size as its no ta filter on zoopla etc and dont want to look through thousands to find it :(

Suffolk / North Essex? Ipswich to London about 1.5h. Maningtree less. Good schools if you research catchments carefully.

We're in Kent but more towards Medway/Swale. You do need to be a bit choose with areas but there are definitely parts of both areas which would fit the bill including hempstead, rural Strood and the hoo peninsula, as well as some of the villages around Sittingbourne including Teynham, Bapchild and Borden.

Ooh www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-89344058.html bit of a trek to the station but pretty! Thomas Mills is a brilliant school.

thanks for replies. any other suggestions?
also any other websites to look at except rightmove/zoopla?
should i be looking at "farm/country house focused" type websites?

have to admit some of the homes listed here are stunning

www.onthemarket.com/for-sale/4-bed-country-house/uk/?max-bedrooms=&max-price=750000&property-features=garden&retirement=false&shared-ownership=false

dont think all fit all the criterea but never the less...much more appealing than living in London as we do now or even perhaps a commuter town like TUnbridge Wells...

There are some nice villages around Reading, which is near Heathrow.

I also wish there was a big garden filter on Rightmove.

The villages south / south west of Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells. You have the Uckfield/East Grinstead train line into London Bridge as well as the line through TW.
