Could anybody advise on the area between Ludlow and Leominster?

We are interested in a house located near Ashton in the Luston Group of Parishes (consists of the three civil parishes of Luston; Eye, Moreton and Ashton; and Eyton). Particularly closer to Ashton.
Can anyone please advise on local amenities, traffic and any planning or housing development plans?
Many thanks in advance for any input. xx

First of all, here's the link to the parish council to find out the general opinion on planning applications, etc.

Being a previous resident of South Shropshire it seemed that this area of North herefordshire is somewhat deprived; leominster was in the 25 % most deprived towns in the UK.

The outlying rural areas are pretty, with the Long Mynd and the stunning South Shropshire hills around half an hour's drive away, Brown Clee hill being the highest in the West Midlands. Ludlow is a pretty little market town, with good amenities, a couple of major supermarkets.

Don't think you can go much wrong, but try to find and area away from the A49; it being the main arterial route though the South to North of the county.

Dear 0rion, thank you very much for you reply and very useful information! Yes, the country side is absolutely stunning there plus we do like Ludlow a lot. We have 2 dogs, nice walks are bonus to us.
