Hello

Sept 1st I will get my ex company pension. I stopped paying into this years ago more than 20 yrs ago.

The fund value is approx 14000
The weekly amount equates to 50 pounds.

IMO I don't think anyone could really better that but I did read re 'health' etc other places could improve.

I'm 65 Sept 1st and have a had a few health problems but able to walk etc unaided can still run a few hundred few/yards etc and walk a mile in 28 mins.

The letters tell me to contact 'money wise' etc for info/advice.

What do you think?

Hi, I got two very small pensions a couple of years ago. One was a stakeholder and I looked around , but nothing bettered the offer I had, but it is worth you trying. The medical part, I got the impression you needed to be likely to die early to get an enhanced rate, as it seemed I would have needed to be very overweight, smoker, drinker etc to have any chance of getting any extra.

I received notification with mine before I decided to make an appointment with pension wise, a government body that give free advice. It is a telephone appt for about an hour, but to be honest, he didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know.
