Everything I have looked at on the internet is either too far away, fully booked or too expensive (ie: £160+ per night).

Looking for 2 nights (weekend) beginning of September, don't want to drive too far to get there.

Anyone know of any good websites for romantic getaways or classy boutique type hotels. (Babington House would be my ideal but it's £250 per night!!)

Thanks

RTKangaMummy · 25/07/2005 17:59

SoupDragon · 25/07/2005 17:59

Is that £160 for both of you or per person per night?

FrenchGirl · 25/07/2005 18:00

ooh like that one www

HandbagAddiction · 25/07/2005 18:18

Can't do a link - but what about Newick Park near Lewes? Rooms are fab and it's definitely small and boutique like!

Or...Gravetye Manor - in East Sussex.....

sarjon · 25/07/2005 18:49

How bout this ??

Keep recommending it to everyone cos its beautiful!!! Wanted to have my reception here but wasn't big enough but the rooms were beautiful and fairly reasonable.

Its in West Sussex, bout 15 mins away from Goodwood/Chichester.

HTH xx

you girls are amazing! Thank you so much for all of this. Sadly my budget is £130-ish per night, per room. Not per person!

This could have been my post a couple of weeks ago. I was looking for exactly the same for our 3rd wedding anniversary and I was horrifed by the expense.
Finally I booked the garden lovers break in August \link{http://www.theoldbell.com/here} They have been really helpful, obviously they are trying to build up. We got a really good deal and managed to get a deluxe room. I'm chuffed to bits, I can't wait.

I hope dh enjoys the surprise.

MrsDoolittle · 25/07/2005 18:55

here

Sorry

desperatehousewife · 25/07/2005 19:01

Mrs D - Does look very lovely, but a bit country cottagy for me...want something more in the line of a slick hotel.
Also, little bit too far to drive. Thanks though. Hope you have a fantstic anniversary!

Alexander House Hotel in Turners Hill, not too far from Ashdown Park... dont know what the prices are like
I got married there and it is beautiful.
will try and find a link for it.

bossykate · 25/07/2005 19:03

for your budget it might be best to look at upmarket b&bs.

what about Manor Farm Oast?

it was recently featured in The Times Top 10 B&Bs...

bossykate · 25/07/2005 19:04

for something slick i think you will need to squeeze more £££ from somewhere!

mrspink27 · 25/07/2005 19:04

Alexander HouseHotel

sarjon · 25/07/2005 19:05

big shame they're fully booked

How bout this ??

I stayed here just over 2 weeks ago for my 1st anniversary - went to Longleat whilst here and to Weston Super Mare and had a ball!!!

Gorgeous hotel but maybe too far away for you?

sarjon · 25/07/2005 19:09

or here ??

This is in Emsworth which is just outside of Chichester - or is it too countryish for you?

desperatehousewife · 25/07/2005 19:29

Sarjon - that looks great - better price too! just phoned them and they sound lovely. Will check out website again.

Thanks so much for all ideas.

Excellent!!! I've heard some great things about this place - really friendly people who run it apparently.

Good luck with booking!

Thank you everyone for all your great ideas....phewie, that was a full time job finding somewhere to stay that was right, but within budget. Gone for a Hotel du Vin....very very excited - hoping to be made to feel special and pampered!
