Nice things

Most of the threads on here are sad and dis-heartning. I know we have all had the usual "why we love our boys" threads but what has your chap said that has been nice lately?

Mine said the other night while we were lying in bed "you get under my skin" for some unknown reason I was really chuffed. We were cuddling when he said it and he has never saidd that to me before, it was really nice cos I know he meant it. I have had messages recently saying "thanks for a nice weekend" he is away sometimes during the week so that means a lot as I try very hard to make a happy home for us and so does he.

Need some nice things to cheer up the end of Easter. Tell me...

Blimey- quorn is above and beyond the call of duty: it must be the honeymoon phase

You can tell if they are a real perv by their attitude to soya milk. Separates the men from the boys.

When I said to him that I would probably look for another job if when he gets promoted and goes onto a 9-5 shift ( I work till 8pm), because it means he would have to cook every night, he said he would be fine and I didn't need to change my job.

Also, on holiday, One night I got changed from a skimpy dress into tshirt/cutoffs because it was cool and he looked at me and said "you look just as gorgeous like that as in your dress you know".
He also put in my anniversary card that he would love me even more over the next 25 years and that he wants to marry me again in Vegas.

Just as we were falling asleep last night he said "God, I cannot wait to meet this baby. I mean - I'm loving you being pregnant, don't get me wrong. But I can't wait to get to know the baby. It'll be so lovely if it's anything like you."

Considering I'm a bit of a mardy mare at the moment (24 wks) - that was pretty awesome! And out of nowhere!
He's ace.

Sadly, I simply cannot ever imagine a man being as nice as you all say. Not meaningfully and long-term. I will never trust or love a man again. End of story. But I am happy that the fairy story is still out there for a good many people.

We moved this weekend, and I got upset going back to the old house, he sent me home and cleaned it all on his own.

Also before Christmas I was very ill, he did everything for 6 weeks.

He hardly ever tells me he loves me, forgets my birthday, has only ever bought me flowers once, but everyday cooks my dinner, while I sleep for an hour(have a sleep disorder),does all the ironing, and bakes me the best chocolate cakes ever.

Love is not always saying it

meatntattypie · 05/04/2010 19:46

woke up on sunday morning to him kissing one of my arse cheeks...its enought to turn your stomache cos its huge, but he loved it!

he does stuff all the time for me, tells me he loves me all the time, is a fantastic dad to ds and they are the best of pals.

I cant complain, he is my lovely love

dh brought me flowers too last week, for no apparent reason (although I quizzed him unforgivably about it )

Also he tells me every day that I am gorgeous, and sexy, and makes lots of 'cawwwwr' noises at every opportunity... which I am NOT I hasten to add (esp after having had 4 of his dds) but he seems to think so. Which is very comforting. And rather reassuring.

And we have been married for 18 yrs.

BoF - what attitude towards soya milk?

If I like it, what then?

Hehe- I made it up. Sounds as likely as being able to surmise anything from quorn or quiche or something though...I recommend feigning indifference but a willingness to try anything new: that should create the right impression

JuJusDad · 05/04/2010 23:20

BoF - you really don't want a list of things I've eaten, drank or tried.

thumbchick · 06/04/2010 02:36

Oh - Shiney/Reality, I thought the song was going to be this one instead...

Never mind! [old gimmer emoticon]

Sorry Shiney, don't know what happened to that link! Perhaps I broke MN, maybe that's why everything went weird..

Here, try again and this time I'll check it works in preview first.

Yep, works for me this time.
