ds works everyday never gripes about it...he sometimes help with the house and stuff, but i was curious of how many dh do anything romantic for the wife...you know girl stuff...i don't care for roses much...i mean just "aawwww"...

OP posts:

i know dh loves me because...

  1. I get to lie-in whenever he is home
  2. I get to have afternoon sleeps whenever he is home
  3. He feeds/changes/plays with dd whenever he is home
  4. He does all the cooking
  5. He does the majority of the cleaning
  6. HE TELLS ME TWENTY TIMES A DAY
Gobbledigook · 30/05/2005 19:17

And he's always telling me I should get away for the weekend for a break.

lou33 · 30/05/2005 19:26

Mine tells me all the time atm, but i have waited many many years to hear it from him

WideWebWitch · 30/05/2005 19:27

Yes, I've got 2 children. One of them isn't even his and I know he loves us all.

morningpaper · 30/05/2005 19:30

Mine is not really demonstrative but when I told him I was expecting he put a large bar of Dairymilk under my pillow...

hunkermunker · 30/05/2005 19:31

Thought this was a Lav thread!

lavenderrr · 30/05/2005 19:35

dh brings me a cup of tea every morning..

He looks after the children if I'm not so good,

He tells me he loves me and is the most affectionate man...
He has supported me for 12 years whilst I have had a p-t/ no money paying job

he is realises his shortfalls,
spends time with ds and dd
spends 4 hours at atime with ds doing airfix kits

and if I am strapped he never questions me...

we will be married for many years...he is not perfect but he is my rock and he adores me in more ways than I could ever imagine...

he listens to me when am down
He is my life and without him I would be sad every day

emily05 · 30/05/2005 19:38

I know dh loves me because as well as doing day to day things to make my life easier (such as making me tea in the morning and feeding ds before he goes to work) he always puts me first and we work as a team.

He isnt the most affectionate mate (as he has an x-box addiction!) but that suits me as I am not very romantic and I have a mumsnet addiction! But we are well suited. When we first got together (10 years ago now) we actually discussed what our perfect partners would be. And I think in a way not meaning to we had adapted to what each other wants (sorry probably doesnt make sense!)

about the time thing - we have 1 ds and dh is a workaholic! So we dont get loads of time - but we try and get quality time together

Thomcat · 30/05/2005 19:39

He's not the gushy, romantic type at all but I'm left in no doubt that he loves me.

Little things such as:

  • the way he introduced me to everyone at this music thing we went to yesterday, the way he grinned when he said, 'and this is Thomcat' and the way he told everyone that we're expecting another and the way his face said it all.

  • the way he told me the other night that someone I barely know thinks I'm great and when I asked why he said 'what do you mean why, your Thomcat, of course you're great'.

  • The way he brings me tea every morning and kisses my head or gently ruffles my hair

  • the way I catch him looking at me

  • and today I know he loves me becasue I haven't lifted a finger, he's cooked, cleaned, changed nappies, everything while I have read and dozed and eaten!

sounds like a competition now dunnit? My Dp is a scamp at times but he's got a heart of gold, tells me he loves me a lot every day and cooks every meal (no cleaning mind you!) He does stupid things for me like makes the stupid face that makes me crack up over and over even when he's well sick of it. Puts up with me all the time too! Says very praising things and never slags off my family even though it's tempting, lots of things. No it's true they're not all bad X
